Stuart Cable 1970-2010

We are sad to report the untimely passing of friend of Amped, Stuart Cable.
Stuart, born in Cwmaman in 1970, found fame with the Stereophonics, the first band to be signed to Richard Branson’s V2 label in 1996.

In 2002 Stuart made his chat show debut with Cable TV, his first foire into the media and the reason for his departure from the Stereophonics; band mates Kelly and Richard claimed he was spending too much time on his new media career at the expense of rehearsals.

Cable TV was followed with a host of shows on both television and radio, Stuart making his mark on Kerrang, XFM and BBC Wales.

In 2007 the newly formed Killing for Company were the first band to play at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium, opening up for rock legends The Who. The band built a strong following and were about to embark on a mini-tour of Wales with Attack! Attack!

  1. R.I.P Man.

  2. The ‘Phonics were one of the first proper bands I got into as a kid and Cable’s enthusiasm was a big factor in making me want to become a musician.
